Plastic Card Printing

Plastic cards are prevalent in our daily lives, such as payment cards, driver's licenses, membership cards and employee identification badges. Their standard size, portability and durability make them the ideal choice for many applications. Id card printers let you print customized, secure and cost-effective cards on demand. They can be printed in color or monochrome and can be encoded with multiple features like magnetic stripes or radio frequency identification (RFID) to extend their use from highly secure employee IDs to gift card applications. ID card printers use a special dye sublimation technology which provides you with maximum efficiency for production of plastic cards for commercial and government applications.

The dye-sublimation process uses three panels (YMC) for color and one panel (K) for black. YMC are used for color picture and K is used for black text. A clear overlay panel is applied to the card to act as a barrier to protect the card against fading, friction and scratches.

Color Printing

Color printing uses a color printer ribbon composed of yellow, magenta, and a cyan panel. The plastic card is passed through a thermal print head together with color panels. The color from the panel is transferred onto the card through the heat given out from the print head. The standard performance for card printing is 300dpi(300 dots per inch, equivalent to 11.8 dots per mm).

This process makes it possible to optimize the excellent quality of printed images and logos.

Monochrome Printing

Monochrome printing uses a single color such as black, white, blue, etc.

This is the most cost-effective process for personalizing pre-printed cards. It is the ideal solution for cards printing that do not require color personal elements such as a picture. Monochrome printing creates crisp black and white images, barcodes and other alpha-numeric data for use with temporary employee IDs, visitor badges, payment or retail membership loyalty cards.
